R&I Conference 2023 - Day 1 - REF

Posted on 2023-06-21 - 08:55

The inaugural annual Cardiff Met Research and Innovation Conference took place on the 11th and 12th of May 2023 at the Principality Stadium. The 2-day event was an opportunity to both celebrate Cardiff Met’s success and reflect on areas for improvement as we develop our Research and Innovation (R&I) culture. The focus of Day 1 was on developing our research environment in the run up to REF2028.

Hosted by the PV-C Research & Innovation, Professor Sheldon Hanton, Day 1 focused on how we develop an outstanding research environment that supports the submission of half our academic staff and an average grade of Internationally Excellent. We reflected on what went well in REF2021 as well as what needs to improve. The conference heard from a range of eminent speakers, both internal and external, with extensive opportunity for Q&A, networking and discussion over next steps. Day 1 was attended by Deans, managers of research, research active staff and those who are keen to become research active.
