He holds a PhD in Islamic Banking from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK and an MBA from the University of Wales, UK. He has over 20 years of extensive business management experience in diversified industries. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK (FHEA) and an academic fellow of the Association of International Accountants, FAIA (ACAD) and a CMBE (Certified Management & Business Educator) awarded by Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS).
The field of ethical finance, particularly Islamic economics and Sharia-compliant finance, has been the focus of his pedagogy. He is an AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Finance Institutions) compliant CIFE (Certified Islamic Finance Executive). He regularly participates in international academic conferences and reviews books for global publishers: Kogan Page, Palgrave, and Cengage Learning. His expertise lies in Islamic Banking and Finance, Corporate Finance and Accounting and sustainable finance. His scholarly interests range in various social science fields, such as women's entrepreneurship, the Higher Education sector, entrepreneurial leadership, sustainability, corporate banking and finance, Islamic finance and FinTech.
