Carolyn is a practitioner, researcher and educator, with more than 25 years’ post doctoral experience working in environmental and sustainable design and construction. Carolyn has worked in the UK, USA, Australia, Mediterranean Europe, Hong Kong and Singapore. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Carolyn's specific interests include: Sustainable decision making in design and construction. Education for Sustainable Development. Design resilience. Climate change adaptation. Conservation, restoration and the reuse of existing buildings. The use of traditional building materials in modern construction. Sustainable/environmental architectural interiors. Low carbon interiors. Adapting to low/zero carbon living. Perceptions and awareness of sustainable living.
