This research focuses on Micro Small Enterprises (MSEs) that are operating in the Welsh Construction Industry, which has not been an area of research previously. The key aim is focused on the development of an environmental framework and toolkit that can assist micro enterprises in the Welsh Construction Industry to shift to better environmental performance. The industry is known for its substantial challenges across the literature from numerous geographical perspectives but what remains consistent is the challenging fragmentation across the construction supply chain. Theoretical and empirical studies have been utilised that focused on numerous areas that builds this thesis platform. The circular economy framework was found to be one of the ways in which MSEs can achieve a better understanding of their environmental behaviour and begin steps to improve their sustainable practices. Data has been obtained through semi-structured interviews with 16 MSEs based around Wales through a snowball sampling method with the initial starting point being a growing larger firm that had multiple networks across Wales. The information gathered was analysed using Leximancer software to establish key themes that were derived from the interviews.
