Predicting optimal gait characteristics spreadsheet
User friendly spreadsheet that can be used to predict how economical an individual's gait is. To use you must have heart rate (or oxygen consumption) data and at least one of the following gait characteristics: stride length, stride frequency (cadence), ground contact time and aerial time.
You will need data from at least five different conditions, such as 90%, 95%, 100%, 105% and 110% of self-selected cadence.
