Paper marbling is an ancient form of art that is thought to have originated in Japan. It involves dropping ink or paint onto specially prepared water. This creates patterns that look like cells or other organic forms that are then transferred to paper. My experiments with this and similar techniques have taught me about the way interactions between energy and matter create forms. We see similar principles at work throughout nature, in living and non-living systems. I will talk about these experiments and how these principles can help us consider deep questions about the nature of reality and consciousness.

Mae marbling papur yn ffurf hynafol ar gelfyddyd y credir iddo darddu yn Japan. Mae'n cynnwys gollwng inc neu baent ar ddŵr sydd wedi'i baratoi'n arbennig. Mae hyn yn creu patrymau sy'n edrych fel celloedd neu ffurfiau organig eraill sydd wedyn yn cael eu trosglwyddo i bapur. Mae fy arbrofion gyda hyn a thechnegau tebyg wedi fy nysgu am y ffordd mae rhyngweithio rhwng egni a mater yn creu ffurfiau. Rydyn ni'n gweld egwyddorion tebyg ar waith drwy gydol natur, mewn systemau byw a di-fyw. Byddaf yn sôn am yr arbrofion hyn a sut y gall yr egwyddorion hyn ein helpu i ystyried cwestiynau dwfn am natur realiti ac ymwybyddiaeth.
