Understanding the Implementation of Circular Economy Principles within Welsh Organisations: Practices, Drivers, and Challenges
The implementation of Circular Economy (CE) principles has become increasingly vital for businesses seeking to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability (Hysa et al., 2020). Welsh organisations, alongside their global counterparts, are transitioning to circular models by rethinking how resources are utilised, waste is managed, and value is created within their operations (Kuik, 2023). This transition is supported by the Welsh Government’s strong commitment to sustainability, as reflected in policy frameworks such as Beyond Recycling (2021). This initiative emphasises reducing, reusing, and repairing and aims to position Wales as a global leader in circular practices (Liu et al., 2023). However, the journey remains complex, shaped by diverse practices, motivations, and challenges unique to each organisation.
