The aim of the paper is to explore the development of a conceptual model that assesses the importance of adopting and integrating Industry 5.0 (I5.0) elements to enable effective circular supply chain operations especially from a holistic perspective. Our research contributes to the development of the concept of supply chain 5.0 (SC 5.0) which builds on from the concept of Supply Chain 4.0 (Bielecki et al, 2024), exploring and examining how effective supply chain strategy development responds to the emerging paradigm of the fifth industrial revolution. The intention of the research is to contribute to the developing narrative and understanding of the key I5.0 practices that need to be considered in order to frame the concept of Circular Supply Chain Management 5.0 (CSCM 5.0). The authors contextualise the SCM 5.0 framework via the lens of viable circular supply chain models, human-centric systems, resilient and sustainable systems, and circular economic systems.
