Success Factors in the management of shipbuilding programmes: an ethnographic analysis of the Colombian Offshore Patrol Vessel Programme

Programme management has progressed significantly, moving beyond initial perceptions as an extension of project management to a coordinated endeavour to achieve benefits beyond individual project outcomes (Pellegrini, 1997; Lycett et al., 2004). There has been a growing recognition of programme management's strategic role within organisations. Recent advances emphasise the alignment of programme management with organisational strategy, underscoring the need to explore programme management as a vehicle for value creation (Serra and Harpum, 2022; Zwikael and Huemann, 2023).
