Industrial development in the last century has been dominated by the linear model of production and consumption. Sharp volatility increases across the global economy and increasing signs of resource depletion have resulted in a growing push for decarbonisation at organisational and supply network levels (Hu et al., 2023). However, in the current literature, the understanding of low carbon supply network is either analytical e.g., using simulation modelling only (Su et al., 2016), or narrowly focusing on a specific area e.g., reverse logistics (Sakikumar and Kann, 2008). There is an urgent need for a holistic framework, addressing various aspects of supply network and considering different industry scenarios.
